Description:
Inspired by the unforgettable dance scene "Enchantment Under the Sea" in Back to the Future, the Gibson Custom Back to the Future “1955” ES-345 Collector’s Edition is much more than a "simple" ES-345: it is a faithful reissue of what has become, for many, the most iconic Gibson in the history of cinema and music.
Limited to only 88 numbered units, a clear reference to the 88 miles per hour required to time travel according to the film's narrative, this guitar celebrates a unique moment in pop culture and transforms it into a high-quality instrument, both for playing and for collecting.
The body of the guitar is constructed with a three-layer structure of maple/poplar/maple, a combination that ensures a warm, rich, and balanced sound. The solid maple center block enhances sustain and reduces feedback, making the instrument ideal for both studio and live settings. The mahogany neck features the exclusive Authentic ’61 Thin “D” profile, designed to provide smooth playability and exceptional comfort.
The rosewood fingerboard, with 22 frets and a traditional 12" radius, guarantees extremely fluid and natural playability, designed to respond precisely to every performance approach.
The electronics consist of a set of Custombucker pickups with Alnico III magnets, wired to 500K CTS potentiometers, producing a warm sound rich in harmonics with a defined attack, perfectly aligned with the tradition of Gibson semi-hollow models with a vintage tone. Completing the tonal versatility is a Varitone switch, which allows for exploration of an even wider sound range, transitioning from full-bodied, rich tones to more midrange-focused and sculpted sounds.
In addition to the extraordinary build and sound quality, each example of the Gibson Custom Back to the Future “1955” ES-345 Collector’s Edition comes with a customized Lifton™ hard case, adorned with graphics inspired by Marvin Berry and The Starlighters, and a curated selection of exclusive accessories. Every detail has been designed to offer a unique experience, intended not only for musicians but also for collectors and enthusiasts of music and cinema history.
