Dunlop EP103 Echoplex Delay

The Echoplex® EP-3 is a legendary effects unit that has become iconic among the artists who have used it. Notable names include Eddie Van Halen, Brian May, Tom Verlaine, Andy Summers, and Jimmy Page.

This unit primarily consisted of a Preamp section and a Tape Echo section. Just as the Dunlop EP101 Preamp faithfully reproduces the characteristics of the original Echoplex EP-3's preamp section, the Dunlop EP103 Delay replicates the tape delay effect of this historic unit.

The EP103 delivers the legendary sound of the EP-3 with a simple interface and high-fidelity analog signal. The Delay control sets the repeat time from 4ms to 750ms, the Sustain control adjusts the number of repeats, and the Volume control sets the output level of the repeats.

This pedal shines when used in AGE mode. By default, the pedal is perfectly calibrated, bright, clear, and features subtle Wow and Flutter modulation. Simply press the volume knob to age the sound of your repeats, darken the tone, increase saturation, and enhance modulation by turning the knob clockwise.

The delay signal of the EP103 receives the same treatment as the Preamp of the Echoplex EP101, while the Dry signal remains unchanged. To fully experience the EP-3 Tape Echo, position the EP101 Preamp before the EP103.

The Echoplex Delay also offers Tap Tempo functionality for up to 4 seconds of Delay Time, simply pair it with the Tap Tempo MXR M199. The Dry signal is completely analog with Constant Headroom Technology, providing a headroom of 20 Volts, and allows for True Relay or Trails Bypass modes. The EP103 can be set to 100% wet mode with stereo Input and Output.
