Produced in Corona, California, the American Performer Stratocaster embodies all the quality and feel that one expects from a true Fender.

Specifically, these instruments feature the new Yosemite™ Single-Coil pickups, designed to generate a rich and expressive tone. With flat-staggered poles, the Yosemite pickups are versatile and boast a remarkable output. The bridge pickup, on the other hand, is a new type of patented Fender humbucker called the DoubleTap Humbucking: a special internal circuitry allows it to operate as a single coil in "split" mode without any loss of volume.

Noteworthy is the presence of a Greasebucket™ tone circuit on the bridge pickup, which allows for a gradual reduction of high frequencies without adding low frequencies when the tone controls are rolled back. This technical innovation helps avoid the alteration of sound that typically occurs with traditional circuits.

Finally, other modern technical features include a "Modern C" neck profile, a 22 jumbo fret fingerboard, and a push-pull control that allows the bridge humbucker to be split, producing authentic single-coil tones.
