Produced in Corona, California, the American Performer Stratocaster embodies all the quality and feel that one expects from a true Fender.

Specifically, these instruments are characterized by the new Yosemite™ Single-Coil pickups, designed to produce a rich and expressive tone. With their flat-staggered pole pieces, the Yosemite pickups are versatile and deliver a remarkable output. The bridge pickup is a new type of patented Fender humbucker called the DoubleTap Humbucking: a special internal circuitry allows it to function as a single coil in "split" mode without any loss of volume.

Noteworthy is the presence of a Greasebucket™ tone circuitry on the bridge pickup, which allows for high frequencies to be cut while gradually rolling off the tone controls, without adding low frequencies. This technical feature addresses the sound alteration typically encountered with traditional wiring.

Finally, other modern technical features include the "Modern C" neck profile, a 22-jumbo fret fingerboard, and a push-pull control that enables the splitting of the bridge humbucker, yielding authentic single-coil tones.
