At the Gibson facilities in Kalamazoo, Michigan, the very first Patent Applied For humbuckers were wound using imprecise machinery, resulting in early PAFs that were far from consistent in terms of output levels and tone. The Burstbucker™ pickup line embodies Gibson's desire to recreate the magic of the original Patent Applied For humbuckers.
The Gibson 60's Burstbucker captures the characteristics of the early '60s PAFs, featuring Alnico 5 magnets that produce a brighter, more defined tone with a pronounced attack.
Like the other pickups in the Burstbucker series, the 60's Burstbucker has asymmetric coils and is not wax potted.
