Semi-Hollow guitars from the Gibson Custom Shop are back in the catalog, and this new Historic Collection represents the highest level of vintage accuracy ever achieved. This result was made possible by analyzing, testing, and studying original vintage instruments in great detail.

The expert hands of Gibson Custom Shop luthiers have faithfully recreated the colors, dimensions, and contours of the original models—guitars that today command astronomical prices on the vintage market.

The result is an instrument that delivers a truly immersive playing experience.

This specific recreation of the 1959 ES-355 features an ebony fingerboard with Block inlays, a ’59 Medium "C" neck profile, and period-correct plastic parts and hardware. This particular version, built as a special order through the Made 2 Measure program, comes equipped with a stunning Bigsby and the legendary Varitone.
