Some of the amplifiers used by John Petrucci in his work include the MARK IIC+™, Dual Rectifier®, TriAxis™, MARK IV™, and MARK V™.

Drawing inspiration from this historic partnership, Mesa Boogie has created the first continuously produced Signature John Petrucci amplifier model.

In simple terms, it is a MARK IIC+. One of the most legendary heads from Mesa Boogie, reimagined according to John Petrucci's specifications for this occasion.

Just like a racing car, the JP-2C reduces controls to the essentials. It is a head designed to create the ultimate sound: the most aggressive and purest IIC+ tone ever, packaged in a versatile format that is suitable for both live performance and studio recording.

Specifically, it features a Clean channel with the highest possible level of headroom, a highly articulate, compressed, and defined Crunch channel, and finally a Lead channel that allows for high gain saturation, generating sustain and a rich, full tone, particularly in the new and special Shred mode with even more Gain.

Therefore, to summarize, we can say that the JP-2C sets aside the Mesa Boogie concept of "multi voicing" and instead focuses on the legendary tones of the JP-2C, reimagined and enhanced for this occasion.
