The Honduras rosewood used for the back and sides is a rare and precious wood, known for its extraordinary beauty and its ability to produce crystalline tones with a warm, rich resonance. This wood, typically reserved for custom instruments, has been chosen to provide a sound and visual quality that exceeds expectations, bringing a unique elegance to the PS series.

The Taylor PS14ce features the revolutionary "V" bracing pattern designed by the brilliant master luthier Andy Powers. This innovative bracing allows for overcoming the compromise between sustain and resonance found with traditional "X" bracing, enabling the soundboard to move in harmony with the strings, thereby increasing sustain without stiffening the structure, resulting in both sustained sound and enhanced resonance.

The electronics are the Taylor Expression System 2, representing the latest evolutionary step in Taylor's electronics. The sensor is not positioned like traditional piezo pickups beneath the bridge; instead, it is placed laterally, thereby reducing the load on the bridge itself, allowing for greater sound dynamics and adding the ability to adjust the distance of certain sections from the bridge with a specialized wrench.
