Electro Harmonix String9 String Ensemble

The String9 String Ensemble transforms a guitar into nine different "ensemble" sounds of strings and string synthesizers without the need for invasive modifications, special pickups, or MIDI implementation.

It is based on the same technology that powers all the pedals in the EHX 9 series. For the first time in the 9 series, the String9 includes the signature EHX Freeze effect on 3 of the presets, allowing users to sample and sustain notes and chords infinitely. A rotary switch on the String9 enables the musician to select their preferred sound as follows.

• Symphonic recreates the sound of a large symphonic orchestra with a low octave effect on the lower range of the guitar for a full sound
• June-O emulates the sound of the Juno analog synthesizer
• PCM features the sound of a small string section sampled from a vintage PCM keyboard that produces a warm vintage string sound
• Floppy emulates the sound of a sampler reproducing Orchestron optical discs, including the trill
• Aarp emulates the classic ARP Solina string synthesizer
• Crewman emulates the analog string and brass synthesizer Crumar Performer, bringing Floyd in a box
• Orch Freeze delivers orchestral sound with the EHX Freeze effect
• Synth Freeze offers string synthesizer sound with the EHX Freeze effect
• Vox Freeze features Mellotron choir and string sounds from the EHX MEL9 with the EHX Freeze effect
