Description:
The Epiphone 1963 Firebird I Reissue is part of the Inspired by Gibson Custom Collection and offers a faithful recreation of the legendary Firebird crafted in the Gibson Custom Shop—at a much more accessible price point.
Inspired by the iconic 1963 Firebird, this version celebrates the year the original model debuted, designed by renowned automotive designer Ray Dietrich, marking the birth of Gibson’s first neck-through-body construction.
The body features a 9-ply mahogany and walnut neck-through build with mahogany wings on both sides, while the neck sports a 1963 Firebird profile, true to vintage specifications.
The rosewood fingerboard is fitted with 22 Medium Jumbo frets and a 12" radius, offering a natural playing feel that remains comfortable even during long sessions.
Electronics include a single USA-made Gibson Firebird Mini Humbucker with Alnico 5 magnets, wired to CTS® potentiometers, Mallory capacitors, and Switchcraft® components for a tone that stays true to vintage character.
A Wraparound Lightning Bar bridge and Epiphone Kluson “Banjo-style” Planetary tuners round out the specs, ensuring solid and reliable tuning stability over time.
