Description:
Developed in collaboration with the Gibson Custom team in Bozeman, Montana, the Epiphone Hummingbird Deluxe EC draws inspiration from the Hummingbird but presents it in a more modern design with a cutaway.
Introduced in 1960, the Gibson Hummingbird™ was the first square-shoulder acoustic guitar in the Gibson catalog, ushering in a new era in music. An icon of versatility and style, it has been played by legendary artists such as Keith Richards, Brian Jones, Eric Church, J Mascis, Joe Bonamassa, Gillian Welch, Thom Yorke, Jonny Greenwood, Steve Wariner, Dan Auerbach, and many others. Its ability to produce clear and defined tones, whether through delicate fingerpicking or energetic strumming and single-note solos, makes it ideal for every musical genre.
The top is crafted from artificially aged solid spruce, paired with solid rosewood back and sides, and features a mahogany neck with a Rounded "C" profile.
The ebony fingerboard offers a natural and comfortable playability and is adorned with "Split Parallelograms" inlay made from mother-of-pearl.
To meet the needs of modern guitarists, the Epiphone 1960 Hummingbird Reissue is equipped with an L.R. Baggs™ Element Bronze VTC system, featuring a piezo under-saddle pickup and active preamp with volume and tone controls mounted in the soundhole, making it ready for both stage and studio.
Completing the package are refined aesthetic details, including the Gibson-style “open book” headstock, Reverse Belly made of ebony, and the famous pickguard decorated with engravings.
