The Stratocaster model, which enjoyed great success in the second half of the 1950s, underwent a significant revolution in the early 1960s, featuring the addition of a rosewood fingerboard, a thinner neck profile, and a set of pickups with a brighter tone.
The Fender American Vintage II 1961 Stratocaster recreates the original instrument produced in the early 1960s and is characterized by an alder body, a maple neck with a fast "C" profile, a rosewood fingerboard with a 7.25" radius, a Vintage Synchronized Tremolo bridge with an inertia block, and Pure Vintage '61 Stratocaster pickups.
This instrument, once slung over your shoulder, conveys an authentic feel and, when plugged in, delights with its vintage tone.
The American Vintage II Series features a selection of the most iconic instruments in Fender's history, reproduced with remarkable accuracy in terms of technical, aesthetic, and sonic aspects. Compared to the American Original Series, this new and updated series offers instruments that are even more historically accurate, representing the closest rendition of Fender Custom Shop production ever presented in the Fender USA catalog.
