Fender American Vintage II 1972 Telecaster Thinline - 3CS

The Telecaster Thinline made its debut in July 1968, and its "semi-hollow" design was chosen to create lightweight instruments using the least heavy ash blocks available. Originally conceived as an "experiment," the Thinline model achieved remarkable success, so much so that by 1971, it was still in the catalog and was updated with the addition of a pair of Wide Range pickups and a "pearloid" pickguard.

The American Vintage 1972 Telecaster Thinline replicates this iconic model in its '71 version, which, however, saw its full production year only in 1972.

The neck features a comfortable '72 "C" profile combined with a 7.25" radius fingerboard and Vintage Tall frets. The bridge is equipped with six steel saddles, while the vintage-style tuners are of the “F”-Stamped type from the '70s, and the truss rod is the traditional "Bullet."

The American Vintage II Series showcases a selection of the most emblematic instruments in Fender's history, reproduced with exceptional accuracy in terms of technical, aesthetic, and sonic aspects. Compared to the American Original Series, this new and updated series offers instruments that are even more historically precise, representing the closest rendition to Fender Custom Shop production that has ever been featured in the Fender USA catalog.
