Fender American Vintage II 1977 Telecaster Custom - BLK

The Telecaster Custom marked one of the first uses of the humbucker pickup for Fender. This iconic model features a 3-position selector located on the upper horn, independent Volume and Tone controls for each pickup, and a larger pickguard compared to the traditional Telecaster model.

The Fender American Vintage II 1977 Telecaster Custom reproduces this legendary model in its authentic 1977 guise.

At the heart of this instrument is a Wide Range Humbucking pickup at the neck and a Pure Vintage ’77 Single Coil Telecaster Pickup at the bridge. To recreate the authentic sound of the original Wide Range pickups, it was necessary to return to using CuNiFe magnets, which have been out of production since 1981.

The neck features a comfortable ’77 "C" profile, paired with a 7.25" radius fingerboard and Vintage Tall frets. The bridge is equipped with 6 steel saddles, and the 1970s-style tuning machines are “F”-stamped, while the truss rod is the traditional "Bullet."

This instrument is suitable for various genres, blending the warm, enveloping tone of a neck humbucker with the unmistakable "twang" of a Tele single coil at the bridge.

The American Vintage II Series features a selection of the most emblematic instruments in Fender's history, reproduced with exceptional accuracy in terms of technical, aesthetic, and sound qualities.
