A Masterbuilt instrument, for those who have wielded it at least once, is something that transcends the already exceptional experience of a Fender Custom Shop Teambuilt.
It is a guitar almost tamed by its resonance, an instrument where hands glide effortlessly due to its comfort. It is an alchemical mix of small technical details that make a significant difference.
This Stratocaster was crafted by Andy Hicks, one of the most esteemed Masterbuilders among the new generation: a figure who has been part of the Fender Custom Shop production since 2013, when he was an assistant to Steve Stern at the Gretsch Custom Shop. After a stint at James Tyler Guitars, he joined the Fender Custom Shop Masterbuilders family.
This instrument is made with selected materials, featuring a powerful attack, and is equipped with a modern electronics configuration with Vintage Modified #2 Stratocaster wiring. It is characterized by an ash body, Jumbo / 6100 frets, a 12" radius, and a Large "C" neck profile.
The electronics consist of a set of Fender Custom Josefina Campos Hand-Wound 50's Stratocaster pickups, with the middle pickup being RWRP.
The tone is warm yet defined, rich but with a quick and precise attack, a magnificent and balanced blend of qualities.
