By the late 1950s, the Telecaster had firmly established its reputation as the ultimate workhorse guitar, but for musicians seeking an instrument with the versatility of a Tele and a more distinctive personality, options were few and far between. Enter the Telecaster Custom, which made its debut in 1959, showcasing an elegant double-bound body and a stunning rosewood fingerboard—both new features for the Telecaster.

The Vintage Custom 1959 Telecaster Custom boasts the same refined look as the original, along with rare and exciting features from the formative years of the Tele that we believe modern musicians and vintage sound enthusiasts will appreciate.

This guitar is equipped with Fender Custom Shop Hand-Wound '58 Single-Coil Tele® pickups wired with Fat '50s for an open Tele tone that can easily handle any situation. The neck features a Vintage Compound radius, from 7.25" to 9.5", and Medium Vintage frets, slightly larger than vintage ones.

Additional features include a Flash Coat finish, Closet Classic hardware, a two-piece "Offset Seam" alder body, and a Rift Sawn maple neck with a "Flat Lam" rosewood fingerboard.
