Description:
The Gibson Acoustic 1928 L-1 Blues Tribute is an immaculate recreation of a small body acoustic that was at the peak of its popularity, while the first wave of Blues music was moving up the Mississippi delta and the first recordings were reaching homes across America. The L-1 was a parlor-style guitar, whose 12-fret design created surprising volume and projection, and it soon fell into the hands of Blues greats like Robert Johnson.
The Gibson 1928 L-1 Tribute uses choice woods to recreate the tonal response of the originals, with historically accurate build techniques. An Adirondack spruce top offers a mixture of clarity and top-end warmth that other forms of spruce cannot match. Premium mahogany back and sides provide a traditional mid-range character, while a thin nitro finish lets everything breathe and develop with age. With a true bone nut, vintage open-back tuners, and a traditional “V” neck profile, this L-1 Tribute takes you back to the formative years of the Blues.
