The 490R pickups are equipped with Alnico 2 magnets, just like the original PAFs, and have a tonal quality very similar to the latter, except for a greater emphasis on the mid frequencies, making them more pronounced and modern.
Unlike the original PAFs, the 490R has been designed with a modern approach aimed at eliminating any unwanted feedback.
The 490R is suitable for use at the neck position. It features a 4-conductor version.
