Gibson Custom 1959 Les Paul Standard Gloss - DCB

There is no guitar more emblematic of the Gibson brand than the 1959 Les Paul Standard. When it was introduced, it was not a successful model; fewer than 650 units were sold. However, over the years, it was chosen as an instrument by guitarists of the caliber of Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Duane Allman, Billy Gibbons, Joe Perry, and Slash, and it became a legend.

The current production from Gibson Custom represents the most accurate replica ever made of the original. The body is, of course, crafted from select solid mahogany, while the top is made of flamed maple.

The carving of the top, the body dimensions, the plastic parts—every element has been faithfully reproduced.

It is redundant to go into details; this is the highest level that the Gibson Custom Shop has ever achieved.

In particular, this specimen was created through the Made 2 Measure program of the Gibson Custom Shop and is a one-of-a-kind production, characterized by an exceptional finish and a hand-selected maple top sourced from the Gibson Custom facilities in Nashville, TN, USA.
