The Gibson Dove was first introduced to the world in 1962, at the dawn of one of the most revolutionary and influential decades in the history of popular music. It was the second acoustic model in Gibson's Square Shoulder series, following the Hummingbird™, which was launched two years earlier in 1960.

Crafted in the Gibson Custom Shop in Bozeman, Montana, the Gibson Custom 1963 Dove Reissue Murphy Lab Light Aged is a faithful reinterpretation of the original 1963 model. Every detail has been meticulously designed to capture the soul and aesthetic of the '60s Dove, an instrument known for its unmistakable look and powerful, bright, and defined tone.

The guitar features a solid Sitka spruce top that has been thermally treated, paired with traditional scalloped "X" bracing, and a back and sides made of flamed maple finished in Cherry. The mahogany neck boasts a comfortable Rounded profile.

Thanks to the combination of a 25.5" scale length and the maple back and sides, the 1963 Dove Reissue Murphy Lab Light Aged stands out with a particularly bright, defined, and projected tone.
