VOS stands for "Vintage Original Spec," and is not a product designation Gibson uses lightly. With the 1964 ES-330 Historic VOS, the goal was to re-create the experience of playing a classic Gibson ES. From its Kluson tuning machines to its Trapeze tailpiece, Gibson's elite luthiers have handcrafted an instrument that has exceeded our perennially high expectations.

The guitar's VOS credentials begin with premium tonewoods. With its 3-ply maple/poplar/maple top and back, the single-chamber body creates a full, warm, and vibrant sound with impressive sustain. The top is braced with quartersawn Adi spruce. The neck is carved from select quartersawn mahogany, enhancing its strength and preventing twisting or warping. But in a nod to modern player preferences, the A-grade dark rosewood fingerboard is fitted with 22 medium-jumbo frets, however, its aged celluloid small block inlays retain the authentic vintage vibe of the instrument.
