Description:
The guitar that initiated the Gibson Jumbo tradition.
When Gibson launched the Jumbo model in 1934, it was a larger-than-normal guitar, hence the name "Jumbo," and it was quickly recognized by musicians of the time as a high-quality instrument.
However, as often happens at Gibson, it was produced for only two years and has remained one of the most sought-after collector's items.
Today, Gibson Acoustic revives this extraordinary model in its Custom Historic Collection, reproducing it down to the smallest details.
We find a "Thermally Aged" Adirondack spruce top, animal glue bracing, mahogany back and sides, a 25" scale length, a body deeper than other Dreadnought Round Shoulder models in the Gibson catalog, and a Historic Style "V" neck profile.
The sound is surprisingly powerful, rich, and robust.
The Gibson Custom Historic 1934 Jumbo brings the legend back to life.
