The legend of the J-45 model began back in 1942 and now comes to life again, thanks to the luthiers at the Gibson Acoustic Custom Shop, in the Gibson Custom Historic 1942 Banner J-45.

This instrument represents the most accurate replica ever made of the original 1942 J-45. It is crafted meticulously, reproducing even the smallest details and employing the most advanced construction techniques.

Specifically, we want to highlight the presence of a "Thermally Aged" solid Sitka spruce top, solid mahogany back and sides, a short scale length of 24.75", and a nut width of 1.725".

The sound produced is defined, dry, extremely precise, and articulated in fast passages.

In particular, this version is characterized by a Murphy Lab Heavy Aged treatment. The Murphy Lab perfectly recreates, through natural processes rather than manual ones, the same aging conditions of the finish found on original vintage instruments.
