Description:
Introduced in the catalog in 1960 as the first Gibson Dreadnought Square Shoulder, the Hummingbird arrived alongside the "new era" of global music and has remained inextricably linked to it.
The 1960 Hummingbird Fixed Bridge represents the most accurate replica ever made of the original 1960 Hummingbird. This instrument has been crafted with meticulous attention to even the smallest details, employing the most cutting-edge construction techniques.
Specifically, we would like to highlight the presence of a "Thermally Aged" Sitka spruce top, solid mahogany back and sides, a short scale length of 24.75", and a nut width of 1.725".
This instrument produces a defined sound, rich in bass, making it perfect for strumming and solo guitar playing.
Notably, this version features a Murphy Lab Heavy Aged treatment. The Murphy Lab perfectly recreates, through natural, non-manual processes, the same aging conditions of the finish found on original vintage instruments. It truly feels like you are holding an original vintage instrument, but with all the quality and performance that only the Gibson Custom Shop can offer today.
