Gibson Custom celebrates the legacy of the iconic guitarist, singer-songwriter, producer, and arranger Mick Ronson with the Mick Ronson 1968 Les Paul Custom Collector's Edition, an exceptional tribute to the instrument that Ronson used on tour and in the studio with David Bowie. Produced in an extremely limited series, this model showcases the meticulous aging treatment artistry of the Murphy Lab, allowing for an extraordinarily accurate reproduction of the guitar's appearance, feel, and sound as it was during the time of The Spiders from Mars.

The instrument features a mahogany body and a Plain maple top, paired with a carved mahogany neck with an Authentic '68 Medium "C" profile. A 22-fret Medium Jumbo ebony fingerboard with pearloid inlays completes the neck. The hardware is characterized by an aged Gold finish, while the asymmetric Volume and Tone knobs recreate the distinctive details of Ronson's original guitar.

The electronics include a pair of '68 Custom Aged Humbucker™ pickups with Alnico 2 magnets, delivering the powerful and cutting tone that defined Ronson's sound. Completing the electronics are CTS® 500k logarithmic potentiometers, hand-wired with Black Beauty capacitors, while the Murphy Lab aging treatment accurately reflects the precise wear marks created by years of use by Ronson.

With only 100 units produced, each guitar is handcrafted by the expert luthiers of the Gibson Custom Shop and Murphy Lab in Nashville, Tennessee. The Mick Ronson 1968 Les Paul Custom comes in a custom case featuring a reproduction of Mick Ronson's signature on the exterior, accompanied by a replica strap and a booklet with a certificate of authenticity bearing his reproduced signature on the cover.
