Years of research and testing by Gibson engineers have led to the development of a formula and process that replicates the magical tone of the 1950s Patent Applied For humbucker™ pickups.
Each Custombucker uses Alnico 3 magnets to provide a sweet and warm tone that accurately reproduces the sonic characteristics of the highly regarded early humbuckers. Like the original Patent Applied For models, the Custombucker features AWG 42 wire and unpotted coils, ensuring a historically accurate reproduction of the pickup that will satisfy even the most discerning guitarists.
