Years of research and testing by Gibson engineers have led to the development of a formula and a process that replicates the magical tone of the 1950s Patent Applied For humbucker™ pickups.
Each Custombucker features Alnico 3 magnets to deliver a sweet, warm tone that accurately reproduces the sonic characteristics of the early humbuckers that are so highly regarded. Like the original Patent Applied For pickups, the Custombucker uses AWG 42 wire and unpotted coils, ensuring a historically accurate reproduction of the pickup that will satisfy even the most demanding guitarists.
