Description:
The Firebird Platypus pays homage to one of the most fascinating moments in Gibson's design history: the 1965 transition that led to the creation of the famous “Non-Reverse” headstock. This exclusive model celebrates those rare transition examples, reinterpreting one of the most unique versions of the Firebird in a modern light.
The mahogany body is paired with a mahogany neck featuring a SlimTaper profile, designed to provide maximum comfort and a fast, responsive playability, ideal for any performance needs.
The rosewood fingerboard, with a 12" radius and 22 Medium Jumbo frets, ensures a natural and smooth feel, perfect for long sessions without fatigue.
The electronics of the Firebird Platypus consist of a set of Gibson Firebird Mini Humbuckers with Alnico 5 magnets: versatile and dynamic pickups capable of delivering bright cleans and full, distorted tones, perfect for rock and blues.
Completing the setup are a Nashville Tune-O-Matic™ bridge and Grover® Mini Rotomatic® tuners, which together guarantee impeccable tuning stability and precise intonation, even during the most intense performances.
