The Gibson Les Paul Junior Double Cut is directly derived from the legendary Les Paul Junior of 1954, originally conceived as an accessible "student" model but crafted with the same care and quality as Gibson's professional models. Designed to offer simplicity, reliability, and a powerful sound, the Junior quickly became a rock icon due to its straightforward character and the distinctive voice of the P-90 pickup.

In 1958, the "Double Cut" version made its debut, characterized by a mahogany body with a double cutaway for easier access to the higher frets and a more modern appearance. While maintaining the essential qualities that contributed to its success, the Les Paul Junior Double Cut offered surprising tonal versatility and superior playability.

The body is made entirely of mahogany, paired with a mahogany neck featuring a SlimTaper profile, providing a fast and comfortable feel.

The fingerboard, made of rosewood, is equipped with 22 Medium Jumbo frets and a 12" radius, allowing for a natural feel during performances, making it ideal for long playing sessions.
