Mark Morton is one of the most influential figures in modern heavy metal. As the guitarist for Lamb of God, he has played a crucial role in defining the band's sound, which has become a benchmark of the American heavy metal new wave.

The collaboration between Mark Morton and Gibson stems from the need to create an instrument that accurately reflects his direct, aggressive, yet refined approach. The result is the Gibson Mark Morton Les Paul Modern Quilt, a signature model that combines the iconic Les Paul aesthetic with modern features designed to meet the needs of contemporary guitarists and for more intense performances.

The mahogany body is enhanced by a spectacular AAA quilted maple top and is equipped with UltraModern weight relief, which ensures high comfort even during extended sets without compromising sustain and tonal fullness. The mahogany neck features an extremely smooth SlimTaper™ profile, while the Modern Contoured Heel provides fluid and natural access to the higher registers of the fretboard.

The ebony fingerboard, equipped with 22 Medium Jumbo frets and a compound radius, delivers a natural feel, suitable even for the most complex performances.

The electronics consist of a Mark Morton Signature Rhythm Humbucker at the neck and a Mark Morton Signature Lead Humbucker at the bridge. The rhythm pickup, featuring Patent Applied For-style windings and a ceramic magnet, offers definition and a strong attack, while the lead pickup, with a higher output, ensures presence, power, and sustain.

Completing the specifications are the Grover® Rotomatic® locking tuners with Keystone buttons, designed to provide high tuning accuracy, greater stability under stress, and quick and efficient string changes. The Tune-o-matic bridge, paired with the aluminum stopbar, ensures precise intonation and optimal vibration transmission between the strings and the body, significantly contributing to sustain, attack, and tonal consistency across the entire range of the instrument.
