Recently, the Gretsch research and development department decided to analyze the original Filter'Tron pickups from the "Baldwin" era to create a new pickup that could capture their sound and essence. The result of this research is the new "Black Top" Filter'Tron pickups, which come standard on the Gretsch G5655TG.
The Gretsch G5655TG Electromatic Center Block Jr. with Bigsby is a compact semi-hollow body guitar featuring the new "Black Top" pickups. It is characterized by a maple neck with a Thin "U" profile, a Laurel fingerboard with 22 Medium Jumbo frets, Pearloid Neo-Classic thumbnail inlays, a three-position pickup selector, an Adjusto-Matic™ bridge, and a Bigsby®-licensed B60 tailpiece.
