Line 6 HX Stomp XL

Line 6 has announced the arrival of the latest member of the Helix floor processor family: the Line 6 HX Stomp XL. Building on the highly popular Line 6 HX Stomp, the HX Stomp XL boasts the same Shark-powered DSP, inspiring effects, realistic amplifiers, and comprehensive cabinet simulations and I/O as its larger counterpart, but includes more footswitches, a handful of extra features, and enhanced MIDI capabilities.

Like the HX Stomp, the HX Stomp XL is equipped with capacitive footswitches. However, the HX Stomp XL increases the number from three to eight, providing greater access to its numerous factory presets and custom sounds. The additional switches also enable the HX Stomp XL to provide a 6-switch looper, ideal for loop-focused guitarists.

Another advantage of the HX Stomp XL's additional switches is the enhanced MIDI capabilities. While the HX Stomp XL is a formidable standalone processor, it can also function as a command center for complex MIDI rigs. Equipped with 102 customizable MIDI CC controllers, the HX Stomp XL simplifies the activation of external pedal stacks, recalling settings, and modifying performance parameters during a performance. Furthermore, the built-in tap tempo can simultaneously sync multiple time-based effects. The HX Stomp XL is an invaluable production and performance tool that helps you harness the full power of all your effects and MIDI hardware processors.

Snapshots are one of the most exciting features of the Helix processor family, allowing you to save variations of presets and easily switch between them. The HX Stomp XL provides four snapshots per preset (the HX Stomp offers three). Snapshots are a great way to add dynamics and energy to a performance by altering the intensity and character of an effects chain to match the dynamic changes in a song.

Trigger a crunch distortion when the chorus hits; layer in some modulation effects during the bridge; immerse your finale in a brigade-style delay, all while maintaining the foundational sound you've created in your preset. Additionally, the HX Stomp XL borrows the concept of pedal modification from Helix to make creating and editing presets on the fly easier than ever.
