Description:
Goodness gracious, this Clapton Signature 000-28 is a monster. No triple-0 guitar should have this much low-end girth! It defies the laws of physics. The low-midrange response is quite powerful, too--imagine a 100-foot tall opera singer belting it out and you'll get a rough idea of how it sounds. The highs are sunny, open, and crystalline. Overall, it sounds warm and woody, though--almost like a supercharged vintage piece. The attack is also quite round and even, which makes it easy to maintain consistent dynamics and articulation.
So, it has enough boom and projection to satisfy a flatpicker looking for a guitar with a woody, warm voice. It also works magnificently for fingerstyle because of its evenness and clarity and because each note sounds like it weighs a ton. Anyone searching for a marvelous do-it-all Martin will love this serial!
