Description:
The Martin D-28 is one of the most iconic models in Martin's history, chosen by generations of guitarists for its full sound, powerful bass, defined treble, and extraordinary harmonic richness.
Equipped with a long scale of 25.4 inches, it features a solid Sitka spruce top and solid Indian rosewood back and sides, a traditional combination of tonewoods. It is a perfect instrument for strumming and flatpicking.
Specifically, this guitar belongs to the Standard Series 2025, which has further refined the already exceptional Standard Series Reimagined models to offer even higher performance, both in terms of sound and comfort.
A significant innovation is the adoption of the Golden Era bracing, previously reserved exclusively for Custom Shop productions, as well as the Modern Deluxe and Authentic series. This technical choice imparts an even fuller and richer sound to the instruments while maintaining the typical clarity of Martin guitars.
Another enhancement concerns the neck, which now features the Golden Era Modified "Low Oval" profile, thinner at the lower frets for a more comfortable grip, but gradually thicker as one moves up the fretboard, thus improving overall ergonomics. The fingerboard is slightly thinner, following the design of historic pre-war Martins, and features beveled edges for greater comfort in handling.
The bridge has also been redesigned and now adopts the Golden Era Modern Belly design, reminiscent of the bridges found on pre-war Martin guitars.
Overall, the Martin Standard Series 2025 moves even closer to the traditional construction standards of the brand, offering instruments with authentic character and improved playability.
This particular version is characterized by a satin finish, which keeps the overall cost of the instrument lower due to the reduced hours of labor required, while providing the instrument with a more modern feel.
