Description:
The Martin D-35 is an icon among the historic models in the Martin catalog, cherished since the 1960s for its extraordinary tonal quality, which combines deep bass, crystal-clear highs, and an exceptional harmonic variety. Compared to the D-28, it stands out with its three-piece Indian rosewood back, showcasing not only aesthetic virtuosity but also technical prowess; this construction contributes to a greater emphasis on the mid frequencies.
Notable technical features include a long scale length of 25.4", a solid Sitka spruce top, and Forward Shifted bracing, which optimizes sound performance and further enriches the tone.
This model is ideal for guitarists seeking an instrument suitable for both strumming and flatpicking.
Specifically, this guitar belongs to the Standard Series 2025, which has further refined the already exceptional Standard Series Reimagined models to offer even higher performance in terms of sound and comfort.
A significant innovation is the adoption of the Golden Era bracing, previously reserved exclusively for Custom Shop productions, as well as the Modern Deluxe and Authentic series. This technical choice gives the instruments an even fuller and richer sound while maintaining the clarity typical of Martin guitars.
Another improvement concerns the neck, which now features the Golden Era Modified “Low Oval” profile, thinner at the lower frets for a more comfortable grip, but progressively thicker as you move up the neck, thereby enhancing overall ergonomics. The fingerboard is slightly thinner, mirroring the design of the historic Martin Pre-War models, and features rounded edges for greater comfort in handling.
The bridge has also been redesigned and now adopts the Golden Era Modern Belly design, evoking the bridges of Martin guitars produced during the Pre-War era.
Overall, the Martin Standard Series 2025 aligns even more closely with the traditional construction standards of the brand, offering instruments with authentic character and improved playability.
