Description:
The Martin HD-35 is a variant of the HD-28 model, long coveted for its refined aesthetics, thanks to features like the “Herringbone” binding, as well as its technical specifications. Like the HD-28, the HD-35 differs from its smaller siblings, the D-28 and D-35, due to its scalloped bracing, a technical solution that provides an even fuller sound, albeit with a slight sacrifice in definition.
Additionally, it differs from the HD-28 with its three-piece Indian rosewood back, which is both an aesthetic and technical virtuosity, enhancing the mid-range frequencies.
Equipped with a long scale of 25.4", this guitar boasts a solid Sitka spruce top and solid Indian rosewood back and sides, making it a perfect instrument for strumming and flatpicking.
In particular, this guitar belongs to the Standard Series 2025, which has further refined the already exceptional Standard Series Reimagined models to deliver even higher performance, both in terms of sound and comfort.
A significant innovation is the adoption of the Golden Era bracing, previously reserved exclusively for Custom Shop productions, as well as the Modern Deluxe and Authentic series. This technical choice gives the instruments an even fuller and richer sound while maintaining the definition typical of Martin guitars.
Another improvement is found in the neck, which now features the Golden Era Modified “Low Oval” profile, thinner at the lower frets for a more comfortable grip, but progressively thicker as you move up the fingerboard, thereby enhancing overall ergonomics. The fingerboard is slightly thinner, echoing the design of the historic Martin Pre-War models, and features rolled edges for greater comfort while playing.
The bridge has also been redesigned and now adopts the Golden Era Modern Belly design, reflecting the bridges of Martin's Pre-War production.
Overall, the Martin Standard Series 2025 brings the instruments even closer to the traditional construction standards of the brand, offering tools with authentic character and improved playability.
