Description:
The Martin Super D-18 is a modern reinterpretation of one of the models that has made history for the American brand, desired by generations of musicians for its powerful and defined sound, with an emphasis on midrange frequencies. This model inherits all the iconic character of the D-18 but features a larger Super D body, offering approximately 20% more volume compared to the traditional dreadnought, ensuring extraordinary sound projection and an even more imposing presence on stage or in the studio.
Characterized by a 25.4" scale length, this guitar boasts a solid Sitka spruce top and solid mahogany back and sides. It is an ideal instrument for strumming and flatpicking, yet capable of excelling in more intricate solo passages thanks to its enhanced resonance and superior tonal balance.
Although it does not formally belong to the Standard Series 2025, the Martin Super D-18 inherits all the main technical and construction features of that series, ensuring top-level performance. It maintains the Golden Era bracing pattern, which gives the instrument a full, rich, and defined tonal spectrum, previously reserved for Custom Shop productions and the Modern Deluxe and Authentic series. The neck retains the Golden Era Modified "Low Oval" profile, which is slimmer at the lower frets and progressively thicker towards the higher fretboard, providing optimal ergonomics, while the slightly thinner fretboard with beveled edges recalls the historic Martin Pre-War models, offering superior comfort in handling.
Thanks to these features, the Super D-18 combines the tradition of Martin sound with modern construction, providing a guitar with an authentic character, powerful and well-balanced sound, and significantly increased projection compared to the classic D-18.
