Maton Master Built T.E. Personal

When the team responsible for Master Built productions began designing this instrument, a replica of Tommy Emmanuel's guitar, it was crucial to thoroughly understand the workings of the original guitar.

The T.E. Personal has been conceived to offer an extremely even frequency response and to ensure body and sustain even on the highest single notes. Additionally, it is designed to perform well at relatively high amplified volumes without generating unwanted feedback while maintaining a rich and full acoustic sound.

All of this has been made possible thanks to specific and unique thicknesses of the soundboard and dimensions of the braces. The braces are in a “V” shape, like those on other Master Built models, but they are taller and feature deeper cutaways. The base of the bridge made of maple is wider than standard, and the guitar has two transverse braces above the soundhole, compared to the single brace used in all other models. The soundboard and braces are made of selected AAA Sitka spruce for maximum stiffness. This combination of technical choices provides a solid foundation for a bright high register full of sustain, while the brace design opens up the mid-low range, ensuring the balanced response required by the Master.

The back, sides, and neck are made of Queensland Figured Maple, while the fingerboard and bridge are crafted from Indian rosewood, contributing to the sought-after lively response. The walnut headstock features a mother-of-pearl Maton logo and the iconic kangaroo engraving on the top.
