The Red Ironbark used for the back and sides is a dense and durable wood sourced from responsible Californian origins, rare and valued for its powerful sound and extraordinary tonal fidelity. Characterized by a sweet yet vigorous voice, with pronounced mids and a balanced response across all frequencies, this wood gives the instrument a vivid and articulate presence.

The Taylor PS14ce features the revolutionary "V" bracing pattern designed by the ingenious luthier Andy Powers. This innovative bracing allows for overcoming the compromise between sustain and resonance that is typical of the classic "X" bracing, enabling the soundboard to move in sync with the strings, thus increasing sustain without stiffening the structure, resulting in both high sustain and high resonance.

The electronics are the Taylor Expression System 2, representing the latest evolutionary step in Taylor electronics. The sensor is not positioned like traditional piezo pickups beneath the bridge, but instead is placed laterally, thereby reducing the load on the bridge itself, allowing for greater dynamic sound and adding the ability to move sections of the sound away from or closer to the bridge using the provided hex key.
