Wampler Cory Wong Compressor & Boost

Cory Wong is a Grammy-nominated artist, renowned for creating some of the most refined grooves across all genres. The Wampler Cory Wong Compressor is at the heart of his legendary sound. More than just a compressor and a boost pedal, this dynamic toolset shapes your sound by delivering "sparkling" clean tones and responsive compression directly to your amplifier or straight into your recording interface. The Wampler Cory Wong Compressor features two soft-touch footswitches that activate each function of the pedal. For the Compressor side, there is full control over Volume, Sustain, Attack, and Blend, as well as Brian Wampler's signature Tone control, which can be adjusted to add brilliance and character to your guitar tone.

On the Boost side, there is a single rotary Boost control that adjusts the desired amount of boost, along with a Profile switch that sets the Boost circuit mode from a "flat" boost to a rich and saturated boost, with enhanced presence around the 550Hz range. The Blend control manages the mix of dry and compressed signals within the compressor circuit.

The compressor is controlled by the independent "Compress" footswitch on the left, with the LED turning green when active. The Boost is controlled by the independent "Boost" footswitch on the right, and the LED will turn blue when the boost is active. This particular boost is based on the classic MDX Strat Boost circuit (once favored by Eric Clapton). When both sides are active, the LED becomes rainbow white. On the right side of the pedal, there is a "Comp On" switch that permanently activates the compressor circuit when pressed—ideal for live settings. The left side features an XLR output for direct connection to a PA system or mixer, as well as a "Ground Lift" switch that can be used to eliminate unwanted background noise.
