The Yamaha FG9 is the new flagship of Yamaha's acoustic guitar catalog: an instrument that encapsulates over fifty years of experience in crafting some of the best acoustics in the world.

Designed for energetic strumming and fast flatpicking, the FG9 delivers a broad and present sound, perfect for both solos and accompanying an ensemble. Every detail has been meticulously crafted to translate the musician's emotions with maximum expressive precision, combining the expertise of Yamaha's Custom Shop in the United States with the technology and craftsmanship of Japanese factories.

The most distinctive feature is its tone: a unique balance of brilliance in the high frequencies, great projection, and a dynamic response capable of enhancing even the lightest touch. The Adirondack spruce top provides power and presence, while the tapered thickness at the edges adds liveliness and sensitivity. The back and sides are available in two variants: solid rosewood, for deep lows and crystal-clear highs, or solid mahogany, for a more resonant tone and pronounced mids.

The Rounded V profile neck, designed with a new construction method that combines gluing and screw joints, enhances the body's vibration and simplifies maintenance. The ultra-thin nitrocellulose finish allows the wood to vibrate freely, while simultaneously showcasing the natural beauty of the materials.

The aesthetics are elegant and refined, featuring details inspired by Japanese tradition: fingerboard inlays reminiscent of Kumiki marquetry, and rope motifs on the rosette and binding typical of local craftsmanship.
