The origins of the FG series date back to 1966, with the introduction of the FG180 model, Yamaha's first production acoustic guitar. Since then, for over half a century, Yamaha has harmonized traditional craftsmanship with the spirit of constant refinement, pursuing our vision of the ideal Yamaha acoustic guitar.
The "custom-treated" Sitka spruce top, paired with mahogany back and sides, projects the tone and sustain of a naturally aged instrument.
A new "scalloped bracing" pattern provides greater resonance and a more balanced tone.
Finally, the new three-way Yamaha Atmosfeel system offers a naturally amplified sound.
