The Yamaha LS16 ARE is an instrument crafted entirely from solid woods, specifically featuring a solid Engelmann spruce top and solid rosewood back and sides. The new bracing pattern of the top, combined with the A.R.E. treatment, gives this instrument exceptional resonance, as if it has been played for years.
The A.R.E. technology, developed by Yamaha, allows for the modification of the wood's molecular properties through the control of humidity, pressure, and temperature, imparting to the tops the same characteristics as a wood that has been played for many years, thus significantly enhancing its sound.
In terms of electronics, it includes a Yamaha Zero Impact passive piezo pickup, designed for a natural sound, compatible with any external D.I. and preamp, and functioning without any internal battery.
