The EMG-89 is a versatile pickup characterized by its duality of single-coil/humbucker. It features an Alnico V magnet and a separate preamp capable of generating different outputs for the single-coil and dual-coil modes. In dual-coil mode, the sound is warm, rich, and powerful, yet still defined and similar to the EMG-85. In single-coil mode, which can be activated via the included push/pull potentiometer, the generated sound is clear and crystalline, akin to the EMG-SA.
Suitable for both bridge and neck positions, it is a perfect pickup for jazz guitarists as well as hard rock guitarists.
The package includes: EMG Quik-Connect™ connection cable, pre-wired push/pull tone/volume potentiometer set, output jack, battery clip, screws & springs.
