The 490R pickups are equipped with Alnico 2 magnets, just like the original PAFs, and they produce a tonal quality that is very similar to those, with a greater emphasis on the mid frequencies, resulting in a more pronounced and modern sound.
Unlike the original PAFs, the 490R has been designed with a modern approach, aimed at eliminating any unwanted feedback.
The 490R is suitable for neck usage. It comes in a 4-conductor version.
