The Firebird Platypus pays homage to one of the most fascinating moments in Gibson's design history: the transition of 1965 that led to the birth of the famous "Non-Reverse" headstock. This exclusive model celebrates those rare transitional specimens by reinterpreting one of the most unique versions of the Firebird in a modern context.

The mahogany body is paired with a mahogany neck featuring a SlimTaper profile, designed to provide maximum comfort and a fast, responsive playability, ideal for any performance needs.

The rosewood fingerboard, with a 12" radius and 22 Medium Jumbo frets, ensures a natural, fluid feel, perfect for tackling long sessions without fatigue.

The electronics of the Firebird Platypus consist of a set of Gibson Firebird Mini Humbuckers with Alnico 5 magnets: versatile and dynamic pickups capable of delivering bright cleans and full distortions, perfect for rock and blues.

Completing the package are a Nashville Tune-O-Matic™ bridge and Grover® Mini Rotomatic® tuners, which together ensure impeccable tuning stability and precise intonation, even during the most intense performances.
