EMG-85 - GH

Although the EMG-85 has a slightly lower output than the EMG-81, its frequency response and interaction with the string are different. The 85 features two coils with AlNiCo magnets, allowing for rich bass tones and consistent highs. With a more natural tone, this pickup is ideal for rhythm and blues, as it delivers substantial output while maintaining clarity. It represents a perfect choice as a neck pickup in combination with an EMG-81 at the bridge, which is also the configuration used by Zakk Wylde.
